During my recent overnight stay, the staff was friendly and went above and beyond to assist. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a good assortment of hot items that made my day start off right. This stay definitely exceeded my previous experiences at other hotels in springfield.

The pool offers a nice escape, but good luck if you prefer warmer water. Rooms are sizable, providing ample space to spread out. The overall layout of the hotel feels modern and inviting.

Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms I experienced was disappointing. In one, I faced a horrible smell and had to deal with dirty sheets and a disgusting mattress pad because no one was available to change them. Another room had a view blocked by the entrance canopy, and remnants of the previous guest’s smoking were noticeable. The lack of cleaning was apparent. The fitness center had equipment left in disarray, sweat stains on the floor, and the elevator area remained dirty throughout my stay. It felt like this hotel has begun to lose its shine due to neglect.

The Holiday Inn Express provided a comfortable stay with excellent staff who were attentive to my needs. The room was impeccably clean, and the amenities were all in excellent condition. Additionally, the breakfast offered a variety of hot food options, enhancing my overall experience while working in the area.

The Standard King Room was decent but had some downsides. The bed was comfy, which was a plus. However, there were spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling, and the lighting was really dim. The hot water in the tub was nice, but there was mold on the grout, which wasn’t great. It was pretty noisy with people in the halls too. Overall, nothing stood out as especially bad or good, just kind of average.

You can’t beat the comfort food vibes at nearby A&W and Bob Evans. Both spots are serving up hearty American eats that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. Plus, the stay offered a spacious Queen Suite with room to relax, making family time a blast!

Fair warning, the pool and gym were out of commission, and the shower had a minimal hot water situation. Renovations were in full swing, and stains on the sheets weren't the best look, but the friendly staff kept things afloat.
